Pemberton Aged Care Accommodation Opening

The opening of three new Independent Living Units at the Pemberton Aged Accommodation (PAC) village will help elderly residents in the regional Western Australian town to maintain their independence.

The units, which were primarily funded by Royalties for Regions and built by BGC Construction, were officially opened on 20 October by the Hon Terry Redman MLA, Member for Warren-Blackwood, the Hon Adele Farina MLC, Member for the South West, and PAC Chairman Gordon Smith.

BGC Construction Regional Manager Ross Marshall said the new units were an extension of the existing village and an important addition for the local community.

“The significance of this project may be lost on some, but for the elderly residents of this remote town, the new Independent Living Units provide an opportunity to continue to live independently in the location of their choice,” Ross said.

“BGC Construction has a proud history of building aged care accommodation across Western Australia and we’re delighted to be involved in this project, which will support greater social engagement for ageing community members in Pemberton.”

BGC Construction won the contract through a competitive tender process, and has also completed site works for the future development of six more units.
