BGC CONSTRUCTION SECURES WOOLWORTHS CONTRACTS

The strong relationship between BGC Construction and Woolworths continues to grow, with the supermarket giant awarding the division new contracts to design and construct two shopping centres in WA.

The Banksia Woolworths shopping centre, valued at $15 million, includes a 3,800sqm supermarket with a detached liquor tenancy in the suburb of Banksia Grove. The Butler Woolworths shopping centre, valued at $25 million, also includes a 3,800sqm supermarket and in-mall liquor tenancy, as well as the construction of a standalone Dan Murphy’s store.

Both centres will also include specialty shops and office space, a town square and playground, car parking and a loading dock.

The contracts represent continuing collaboration between BGC Construction, BGC Precast and the retailer to achieve affordable and time-efficient construction. BGC Precast will manufacture and install precast concrete retaining walls, concrete wall panels and benches for the Banksia centre, as well as concrete wall panels, benches and hollowcore flooring for the Butler centre.
